Delta Honored with 4 Major Awards at the 2016 Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards
Recognition for its Green Supply Chain Management and for Promoting Green Buildings at the Global Stage
Taipei, Taiwan, Nov. 23, 2016 - Delta Electronics, Inc., a global leader in power and thermal management solutions, today announced it has been honored with "The Most Prestigious Sustainability Award-Top Ten Domestic Corporate Award”, “The Climate Leadership Award”, “The Supply Chain Management Award” and "Corporate Sustainability Report Award" at the 2016 Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards, organized by the Taiwan Academy of Corporate Sustainability (TACS). All awards recognize Delta’s devotion to innovation, the development of energy-saving products and the implementation of green programs with its supply chain stakeholders. The jury also praised Delta’s green building experience sharing, especially with its “Delta21@COP21” green building exhibition at the 2015 UN Climate Change Conference (COP21) in Paris, France. Mr. Ping Cheng, CEO of Delta Electronics, highlighted, “Delta’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a pillar of its corporate mission since providing energy-saving products and solutions is one of our core contributions to society. For years, Delta has been highly proactive in reducing its own carbon emissions and in engaging with entities around the world in similar concrete actions. Right before COP21, Delta entered the CDP’s ‘Commit to Action’ initiative by committing to a new goal of overall electricity intensity reduction by 2020 and also joined “We Mean Business”, a program that entails commitment to reporting climate change information, influencing public climate policy and setting carbon emissions reduction targets. In addition, Delta continuously enhances the reach of its green supply chain management and co-works with suppliers to develop best practices for sustainable production and GHG footprint.” During the COP21 summit, Delta hosted the Delta21@COP21 sustainability campaign, an initiative that included a green building exhibition and a series of influential side events. In June and September 2016, Delta re-launched its green building exhibition in Beijing and Taipei respectively to promote environmental education while also publishing a book to share the story behind its experience in realizing more than 20 green buildings around the world during the past ten years. This year, Delta has been honored with many global CSR awards for its sustainable accomplishments and achievements. In addition to the 2016 Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards, Delta has been selected as a member of Dow Jones Sustainability™ World Index for six consecutive years since 2011. In 2016, Delta was ranked by the CDP (formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project) at the Climate Change Leadership Level, and won two CSR Champion Awards from Global Views Magazine, as well as the Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Award from Commonwealth Magazine. In addition, Delta was recognized with two Corporate Governance Evaluation Awards from the Taiwan Stock Exchange for its outstanding performance in the area of environment, social and governance (ESG).
